Two hundred houses in the coastal area have been inundated due to floods in Mahakali and Jogbudha rivers due to continuous rains.
Two hundred houses in wards 9, 12, and 13 of Bhimdatta Municipality of Kanchanpur and 200 houses of Kutiyakbar area of Ward No. 10 of Dodharachandani Municipality have been inundated. Hundreds of households in the coastal area have been affected by the recent floods in the Mahakali and Jogbudha rivers according to the statement fo CDO of kanchanpur.
The floods have also damaged a six-lane road being constructed as an access road connecting the four-lane Mahakali Bridge. Rivers including Mahakali have been flooded after continuous rains in hilly districts of the far west since Sunday. The local administration has stated that no human casualties have been reported so far.
The river has also started cutting the six-lane blacktop road being constructed as an access road connecting the four-lane Mahakali Bridge. Half of the road has been cut off by the river.
