The census 2078 will start tomorrow from the President

Wednesday, November 10: Preparations for the 12th National Census have been completed. According to Nevin Lal Shrestha, director-general of the Central Statistics Office, 40,000 enumerators will be deployed in the field for the census starting from Thursday.

The census will be started by collecting the details of the President. The enumerators will arrive at the President’s Office at 9.30 am. After that, the enumerators will reach Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba at 11 in the morning and Vice President at 1 in the afternoon.

They have reached every house and family and asked a total of 80 questions. The average in a family: one enumerator takes 20 minutes, he said. A total of 8,500 supervisors have been deployed across the country to facilitate the census.

Director-General Shrestha informed that all types of training given to them have been completed. This time, a tablet computer has been used in the Kathmandu district for the census. According to the statistics, a total of 2250 tablets will be used.

Stating that the answer to the question asked in the census would be kept secret, Shrestha urged everyone to participate with confidence. Stating that it was his duty to take part in the census, he said that no one should be allowed to say no.

An enumerator has to calculate 175 families on an average in 15 days. Shrestha said that the census should be completed within 15 days.

It will take 6 to 8 months to process the collected data and publish the results. The department is preparing to submit the collected data to the center by mid-November and give preliminary results within three months.
